Independent Verifier

In plain terms: this page lets you confirm for yourself that a contribution is genuine and unchanged — that the words are exactly what was written, that a signed entry really came from its key, and that it is truly part of the permanent Letter. It runs entirely in your own browser, so you don't have to trust us — you can check the math.

Paste a contribution record below. This page uses the same letter-core library as the CLI — it recomputes the id, checks the signature, and walks the Merkle inclusion proof to the published root. Nothing is sent to a server.

Note on withheld entries: moderation is an overlay — it never mutates or removes a record from the corpus. A withheld entry remains at its original position in the Merkle tree and its inclusion proof is still valid. You can verify any entry regardless of its moderation status.
